What is Resistant Starch?
Resistant starch is the most widely consumed prebiotic in history which is found in certain fruits, vegetables, and grains. Resistant starch restores an important part of ancestral diets that get lost due to processing, heating and preferences that characterize a modern diet. Resistant Starch refers to all starches that are not digested by the time they reach the large intestine. Keep in mind not every fibre has a prebiotic effect and not every prebiotic is a fibre, but MSPrebiotic does and is!
Healthy diets meeting 100% of the Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) for Dietary Fiber do not provide adequate Resistant Starch*

How Does it Work?
MSPrebiotic Resistant Starch works as a fermentable fibre as it passes through the stomach and small intestine intact and undigested. Once it reaches the large intestine, beneficial bacteria resident in our gut slowly breaks down the resistant starch. This process of fermentation feeds healthy bacteria, helping them flourish and crowd out bad bacteria. It also produces healthy byproducts, including the short chain fatty acids (SCFA) – butyrate, that our body can use as fuel in the large intestine / colon.
Not all Resistant Starches are the Same. There are 4 Different Types:
Why MSPrebiotic?
MSPrebiotic (Type 2) delivers the highest concentration of resistant starch and is the only supplement-grade source available on the market. Our patented natural prebiotic resistant starch contains gently dried, peeled Non-GMO potatoes and is grown, processed and packaged in Canada. Feeding your own personal strains of good bacteria is key to why our product works so well and quickly to improve and often resolve many kinds of digestive issue quickly from constipation, diarrhea, IBS and anything in-between. Supported by over a decade of clinical research demonstrating increases of endogenous healthy bacteria and butyrate production which has many benefits of it’s own. Not only are you getting the benefits of resistant starch (type 2) by feeding beneficial bacteria in the gut and improving digestive issues you are getting 7g of insoluble fibre per scoop of MSPrebiotic. Recognized as a dietary fibre there are other health benefits to fibre such as blood sugar balance and insulin resistance, lowering of cholesterol, weight loss and satiety.
MSPrebiotic Resistant Starch as a Functional Super Food!
Feeding healthy bacteria in the gut microbiome by the use of a naturally vegan potato source of resistant starch fibre source vs. probiotic supplementation is an easy more effective way of increasing good beneficial bacteria in the gut. Foreign probiotic strains from supplements may or may not work in each individuals unique microbiome. This functional food source for good bacteria is feeding and working with each person’s own unique strains of good bacteria. This has shown through clinical trials and testimonials to be more effective than probiotic supplements alone. We are restoring the resistant starch we have lost in modern diets easily and simply with a flavourless fine powder easily mixed into water, smoothies or soft foods.
Resistant Starch vs. Other Prebiotics – Well Tolerated & FODMAP!
MSPrebiotic is insoluble and has a very large molecular size, meaning that it is fermented more slowly than other prebiotics and does not draw water into the intestines. Rapid fermentation and water movement due to solubility both create pressure in the guts, triggering symptoms in sensitive individuals. Well known prebiotics such as inulin are much smaller in size and sunfiber/guargum that draw water into the gut can cause these more uncomfortable symptoms.
